Buttons from TOKYO ACRYL, a company that has been making original acrylic plates for half a century, are now available exclusively at our WALNUT Kyoto and Tokyo store!
Sparkling beads and Ohajiki (Japanese tiddlywinks). Just looking at them reminds me of the cute things I loved when I was little, and makes me excited. The excitement I felt at that time never fades, even when I become an adult. TOKYO ACRYL mainly produces materials for accessories, and they are as cute as you would expect.
And amazingly, this button is made from recycled parts that were originally thrown away as trash.
This button is made from a cut-out piece of the spirit level ring, a collaboration between artist Miyake Mai and TOKYO ACRYL.

By cutting out a circle for the area where your finger will fit through, you will create an acrylic plate just the right size for a button.
While talking with TOKYO ACRYL, the idea came to mind: "Wouldn't it be cute to make buttons?", so they drilled holes and processed them. Knitwear is inevitably more stretchy than normal clothes, so it's best to use buttons that are as light as possible.
There are three sizes available: S, M, and L, measuring 16mm, 17mm, and 19mm respectively.
They come in a variety of patterns and thicknesses. They have a wide variety of types, from acrylic with mesh inside, marble patterns, and matte to glittery, so they're perfect for creating a pop look or pairing with elegant clothing.
The edges are also processed into smooth, beautiful curves and will not snag!
