This seamless sweater with set-in sleeves, a deep V-neck, and bold vertical lines creates a sleek, sophisticated style. The back incorporates a saddle-shoulder-like design that flows into the sleeves. This piece is as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear due to the thoughtful details added throughout.
Sweater body is knitted starting at the back neckband sideways along the shoulders, then stitches are picked up and worked flat from the top down, and joined in the round after neck shaping is complete. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round from the top down. Sleeve caps are shaped with short rows. After joining in the round, the body and the sleeves are worked inside out to avoid purling. As the Cable Stitch is so wide, short rows are used to make sure the cable crossing doesn’t become too tight. These short rows use the W&T method, and it’s not necessary to pick up the wraps made here as they will not be visible. Note that in the stitch pattern description and chart, these short rows all take place within Rnd 1.
