The Aranami Shawl is named after the Japanese word for "rough waves". Designer Olga says that the colors and patterns of this shawl remind her of the winter sea with rough waves and white spray. Looking at the wave patterns and gradually changing colors, you can certainly see it that way.
It's the perfect size to use as a cover-up for air conditioning or sun protection in the summer. Since it's made with a modular knitting technique, it's also ideal as a project to take with you when traveling.
