Staff Projects: FO during the New Year holidays
At the end of last year, our staff introduced what they wanted to knit for the New Year holidays on Youtube Live. It's been a little over a month since the live. We'd like to introduce some of the work of our staff who kept their word and completed their projects!
First up is Ayako's Niji Pullover . The vibrant turquoise color matches perfectly with her hair! This pattern is designed by Eri Shimizu, and you can choose the neck shape and whether or not youwant a slit. Ayako chose the turtleneck with a slit. I'm sorry that it doesn't appear in the photo, but there is actually a small slit not only at the hem but also at the back of the neck. This is apparently Ayako's favorite feature.
"I love that the slit makes the neckline comfortable and warm."
The ribbing on the neck is connected to form a raglan line, and the multiple lines are cute. It's simple, but when you look closely, it's a lovely piece with intricate details. The yarn that Ayako used is Mota by Wool Dreamers. Unfortunately, it is not available at amirisu, but it is 100% wool and has a rustic feel.
Next upis Shino's Night & Day Cowl . Actually, it's a different pattern from the one she introduced on YouTube, but it's a piece she knitted over the winter break.
At first glance it looks like a complicated checkerboard pattern, but it's actually just two coloured stripes knitted together with a slip stitch to pull the stitches up. "The pattern was easy to remember and easier to knit than it looked. It turned out to be much more voluminous and cute than I expected, and I'm very happy with it." The lines of the slip stitches stand out like arrow feathers, which is very cool. We would definitely like to knit this pattern in two highly contrasting colors.
Another great thing about this item is that it comes in four sizes, from children's to adult large. Shino chose the teen size, which is a little smaller, and says she likes the fit. It doesn't seem to let the wind through. If you have any leftover DK-Worsted yarn from knitting clothes, why not give it a try?
Lastly, we have Asami's Mikey hood, which has a great choice of colour.
Asami was born in January and is a Capricorn. Therefore, she chose the Capricorn-themed amirisu Swing and paired it with the amirisu Drift Handdyed Hinohikari.
"I love how the bright yellow Hinohikari adds a warmth. I'm a Capricorn myself, so just that got me excited while knitting. I'd love for everyone to try knitting their own piecesusing yarn from the Zodiac Collection!"
The collection , which began last summer, has so far released colors for Gemini through Aquarius. Pisces,Aries, andTaurus are also scheduled to be released soon, so look forward to seeing what colors they come in.
For beginners, it can be hard to imagine how to knit a three-dimensional piece like this just by reading the pattern, but if you knit according to the pattern, you'll end up with a beautiful hood shape, so don't worry! It's amazing. Asami also said that she didn't make any mistakes with the W&T and was able to knit it more quickly and without hesitation than she expected.
She also used the leftover yarn to make the Sophie Scarf in the same colors! It's a mini scarf that can be tied tightly around your neck or attached to your bag to add a stylish accent.
She wrapped it around her cat. It looks so cool and cozy!
