This is a simple mitts pattern using only stockinette stitch and ribbing. Recommended for beginner knitters and those new to text patterns.

Needles
US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle
US 3 (3 mm) circular needle
Or needles required to obtain gauge

Gauge (after blocking)
26 stitches and 37 rows = 4” / 10 cm

Circumference: 7” / 18 cmLength: 12” / 30 cm

Instruction

Ribbing
With smaller needles and long-tail method, cast on 46 sts.
Place BOR marker (BORM) and start working in the round, be careful not to twist sts.
Work in 1 x 1 ribbing (K1, P1) until piece measures 2” / 5 cm from cast on edge.

Main body
Change to larger needles.
From here, work in stockinette (k every round) until the piece measures 7” / 18 cm from cast on edge.

Thumbhole
Row 1 (RS): Sl1, K to BORM. Turn work.
Row 2 (WS): Sl1, P to end.
Repeat the last 2 rows until thumbhole measures 2¾” / 7 cm.
Resume working in the round for 1 round.

Ribbing
Change to smaller needlesWork in 1 x 1 ribbing (K1, P1) until rib measures 2” / 5 cm.
BO all sts in pattern. Weave in ends and block to measurements.
