It's been a while, Meri here! Lately, I had been having trouble finding a pattern that I wanted to knit recently, so I wasn’t able to write about any exciting knitting projects, but I finally found a pattern that really caught my eye. It's The Blazer by British designer Zanete Knits. I'd been thinking about finding a cardigan that looks like a chunky Chanel suit jacket since last year, so I was excited to find this one!
The recommended yarn in the pattern is Spincycle's Nocturne, a sport weight yarn. Unlike Dyed in the Wool, it has a dark base color with a slight gradation. It’s not available at amirisu yet, but we hope to stock it next season.
I looked at some project pages, and I think that it looks cooler when using yarns with a bit of a tweed look or that have a slight transition in color compared to completely solid colors. Choosing from yarns available at amirisu right now, maybe Dyed in the Wool, or De Rerum Natura’s Ulysse or Candide?
It might also be cute to knit it using a solid fingering weight yarn held together with a slightly variegated hand-dyed mohair or a fancy yarn. I see some people skipping the chest pockets, but I think they’re a must. I hope you all check it out too!
