what are you knitting now? ~ Kapua knitted with LITLG ~
September 13, 2019
Staff knitting introduction for the first time in a while. It means that autumn has come!
This time, we will introduce a sample of amirisu No. 18 Kapua that is hand-dyed instead of a single color.
The thread was woven with Sport Light from Life in the Long Grass (LITLG) . The pattern is specified as Fingering, but the needle was also knitted with the specified one.
Actually, the designer of this pattern was very tight-knit, and I also knitted with needles thinner than specified. I think that even if you knit with this thread, the gauge will probably come out without problems.
If you have this pattern or a magazine, I would like you to check it out right now, but it is a very interesting way of knitting that looks like a striped pattern by changing the number of needles between RS and WS. Knit the lace on the shoulders and go down to the sleeves! It's a well thought out pattern.
If you've bought hand-dyed fabrics with mixed colors but aren't sure what to knit, we recommend this pattern.
Usage pattern: Kapua from amirisu 18
Yarn used: Life in the Long Grass (LITLG) Sport Light , color cockleshell
Size: XS, model height 164cm
Changes: The back body is knitted longer.
what are you sewing now ~ Simple long skirt made with Conservatory Fabric ~
July 31, 2019
We are crazy about sewing every week. There is a sewing machine in the store, so all the staff at the Kyoto store enjoy cutting patterns and sewing machines during lunch breaks and after work.
By the way, did everyone get a new yomirisu? On page 7, you can see how to make the long skirt that was used for the amirisu No. 18 shoot.
It's that easy! So Tokuko made a short version with cute printed fabric. I thought it would be flashy when I saw only the cloth, but when I made it into a skirt, it was very cute and I was happy.
It takes 1 hour. The most troublesome part was getting the elastic through, and all that was left was to sew it straight.
I used the width of the fabric on sale, so I didn't need a lock sewing machine on the side. Just sew the hem and waist and you're done!
It's nice to be able to choose your favorite length when you make it yourself. You don't need a glue core or paper pattern, so all you need is cloth, scissors, rubber, a sewing machine, and an iron. It is really recommended for beginners.
If you are unsure about the length of your skirt, it might be a good idea to refer to what you often wear. I measured the length of my favorite dress and cut the hem.
How about making a skirt today that you want to wear tomorrow?
Fabric used: Savernake Road by Monika Forsberg, Rona-Aqua 1.5m
Pattern: "Simple long skirt" from yomirisu
yomirisu is distributed free of charge at actual stores. Please come and visit us at the store.
what are you knitting now? ~ Lucy from amirisu 18 ~
July 17, 2019
It seems that the Kanto region continues to have a rainy and cold season, but the Kansai region continues to have hot and humid days. My commute is already a tank top and flip flops.
Well, perfect for wearing in the middle of summer! The Tokyo store staff is knitting the Lucy that we have been introducing. What a wonderful idea to change the color of the front and back! It's very cute and popular in stores.
According to the staff, 4 skeins were used so perfectly that they couldn't put in the top knitting around the neckline. After blocking, the neckline was larger than the scheme size, so they closed it additionally so that it would fit the size.
And it looks really cool. If you knit it in chic colors, I think it's a piece that can be worn regardless of age.
Everyone, please enjoy knitting by matching colors.
Detailed information Thread used: amirisu Wanderlust Linen
Front #09 Canary 1 case, Rear #08 Yucatan 1 case
CC #05 Sahara 2 case size: XS-S size
* We also sell kits here . But of course, if you purchase Wanderlust Linen and Amirisu No. 18 in your favorite color, you can knit your own original Lucy.
what are you sewing now ~ Cocoon shirt with Atelier Brunette's double gauze ~
July 12, 2019
Sewing in the summer too! So, at amirisu, everyone is working hard to make clothes. New fabrics have just arrived, and I'm excited. We are focusing on handling Merchant & Mills and Atelier Brunette.
In addition to the overseas patterns handled by amirisu, there are various favorite books. One of them is the ATELIER to nani IRO sewing closet that was released last year. This book has various recommended points, but first of all, it is "introduced by difficulty x required time". Beginners can easily challenge themselves, starting with something that can be done in 2-3 hours. The other is "5 size development". There are many loose-fitting designs, so I don't think it's a problem if the size is slightly off, but if there are 5 sizes, you can choose your size with confidence. I usually make M size.
This book is pretty simplistic. If you're an expert at sewing, the part where you usually put the edge stitch here is omitted. That's why even beginners can try it right away, but if you're interested, I think you can arrange it yourself.
This time, I made a cocoon shirt with Atelier Brunette's double gauze. This design is actually based on a cocoon dress, and a short arrangement by nani IRO. When Tokuko and I went to an atelier shop in Osaka the other day, I found it and took measurements. The length in the back is 60 cm, and the front is 8 cm shorter, and the sides are slightly curved. (At the shop, I was told to "appropriately curve".) Since it's shorter, it's quicker and easier to sew.
By making it curved, the hem cannot be folded in three. Therefore, the side and hem are processed continuously with a zigzag sewing machine, and then simply folded back along the finished line. it's simple.
I also made a cocoon dress, but it is difficult to iron it after sewing the side seams, so I recommend ironing it before sewing.
This double gauze is not see-through, so you can easily wear it on its own. It covers your buttocks, is lightweight, and is recommended for everyday wear in the summer. Please use it as a reference.
Click here for fabric . I used 1.5m.
Double Gauze has a new color in stock! All of them are cute and I'm in the middle of a fight ❤︎
what are you sewing now ~ Emerald Dress made with Vestige ~
July 12, 2019
Since it's summer, I would like to introduce the staff's sewing works.
me the first time. I was thinking of making at least one dress this summer, and this time I chose the one that appeared in the making magazine.
This was a mechanism to download A4 size PDF from the site, paste it diligently, and cut the paper pattern. Even though it takes time and effort to attach about 30 pieces of paper with cellophane tape, I was grateful that I didn't have to copy the hard-to-understand pattern paper, which I hate the most.
The original pattern was made with a loose cloth, so I changed the sleeves and hem a little.
The large part of the bodice is taken diagonally, and thanks to that, the waist looks like it has a shape.
I also attach a pocket, but I was surprised at how to attach it quite appropriately. It was easy.
However, sewing is a complete hobby, so unlike knitting, I do it with the spirit of "It's okay!" It's difficult to get rid of the hem and collar. But no one will find out, so no problem!
I hope everyone will try it with that same feeling.
Detailed usage pattern: Emerald Dress from making No.7 DESERT
Cloth: 2m of Vestige by bookhou, Line Dance Rudy
Changed:
There are no sleeves, and fusible interlining is pasted around the armholes and wrapped.
The hem is sewn with a zigzag sewing machine and folded once. No adhesive core.
what are you knitting now? ~ Marettimo knitted with Viola and LITLG ~
June 29, 2019
As soon as the rainy season starts, it's extremely humid! However, the difficult part of the rainy season is that there are sometimes cold days.
The staff knitted something that is perfect for the cold and rainy season today, so I will introduce it.
Marettimo is the famous top-down Caitlin Hunter that amirisu also designed. This is a cute bottom-up design with lace on the hem.
According to Ravelry, it's called a summer sweater, but Japanese people don't have the courage to wear short-sleeved wool in the summer. Now is the time to wear it!
It seems that the staff mixed two hand-dyed brands and knitted. I often get asked if it must be from the same brand, but as long as the thickness is the same, there is no problem. Just worry about color matching!
Also, Caitlin has a loose hand and a gauge that no one can match. It seems that the staff also knit S size and finished it small. Everyone please be careful about that.
Colors are as follows:
Thread used for MC = Muscari from Viola Sock
Brown part of the lace = Viola Sock Eclipse
Black part of lace = Caudron from LITLG Twist Sock
what are you knitting now? ~ Linear Cardigan knitted with WalkCollection Linea ~
June 12, 2019
I'm sure there are people like me who catch a cold in the rainy season and air conditioning. This time, we will introduce what the staff is knitting that is perfect for such people!
Sparrow originally used Lineal Cardigan , but the staff at the Kyoto store used Linea, a blend of alpaca, silk, and linen.
Unlike the Sparrow, it doesn't have tension, but it's convenient to carry.
My recommendation is Parade. The length is easy to match with a dress, and I think it will be a piece that can be used from early summer to early autumn.
Please try knitting.
Details Yarn used: WalkCollection Linea
Size: XS size
* Looking at the pattern, the amount of thread used is 800 (925, 1075, 1200, 1375, 1525, 1700, 1900, 2050) yds, but the amount of thread is probably set to be quite large. It was an XS size knitted by the staff and the amount of yarn used was 610 yards. Please use it as a reference.
what are you knitting now? ~ Vespucci knitted with Wanderlust Linen ~
May 30, 2019
The introduction of what the staff is knitting this time is nao from the Tokyo store. A vespucci shawl knitted with Wanderlust Linen. Here is WALNUT's original pattern!
According to nao, it's a convenient shawl that can be knitted quickly and can be used from early summer to early autumn. That's what I'm talking about.
As for the part that is different from the pattern, he wanted to increase the color balance of the finished product, so he changed the thread of the border so that the black part gradually became thicker in the last 1/3. As a result, it looks like a calm color shawl when wrapped around the neck without being too striped, making it even easier to use. It's very easy to change the thickness of the border, so why don't you try using it as a reference?
the detail is right below. We also sell kits!
Yarn: Wanderlust Linen, Black Sea, Sahara 1 skein
Needle: Use US6
what are you knitting now? ~Blossom knitted by La Bien Aimée~
May 15, 2019
Introducing the staff knitting. The second is Blossom designed by Japanese designer Megumi Sawada. Knitted by Tokyo store staff.
This pattern is perfect for hand-dyed knitting, so I think it makes the most of La Bien Aimée's cute pink color.
The staff said that they were not good at knitting knitting, but they got through it because of the cuteness of the yarn. Also, since the rubber knitting around the neckline tends to stretch out, it is said that it is made to stop stretching by knitting fine knitting around it.
If the rubber knitting is stretched, this fine knitting round is a technique that can be used.
Coming soon La Bien Aimée Pop Up Shop. It seems that there are still a few seats left, so please come and visit us! Detailed information below.
Size: S
Thread: La Bien Aimée Merino Singles, color Romance 3 skeins Needle: JP6, JP4
* You can purchase the Japanese version of this pattern on Ravelry. Currently, we do not sell kits at our online shop, but at our store, we introduce the best threads for patterns and sell patterns as a set. Please talk to the store staff.
what are you knitting now? ~ Tecumseh knitting with Brusca ~
May 03, 2019
I'm starting a new blog series today! WALNUT staff's knitting and sewing blog.
All of the WALNUT staff make full use of the benefits of working at a yarn shop and work hard every day. I will introduce them one by one.
The first time is the popular Tecumseh knitted by the Kyoto store staff.
The thread is Brusca . The specified thread is DK, but I think that the gauge is almost suitable. Brusca's rustic colors are perfect for this piece.
According to the staff, it was finished a little smaller. Since it is originally a generous design, please be careful when choosing the size.
Looking at this picture, I feel that the short sleeves are also cute. Below are the details. Everyone, please enjoy the color work!
Size: XS
Amount of Thread: 6 balls of 13C, 1 ball of 6B, 2 balls of B Needles: Use JP6, 4 ※ This pattern is an English pattern. Currently, we are not selling kits at our online shop, but we are selling Japanese patterns to customers who have purchased their clothing at each physical WALNT store.
