Let's try English patterns! ①

December 24, 2014

I am sure that many of the customers who read amirisu magazines or purchase our products are interested in English patterns.

Of course, I think that there are many customers who managed to learn to knit English patterns through trial and error (I am one of them), but even so, there is a high wall to finally start. I'm sure there is. Reading English patterns is learning English, learning knitting, and learning techniques. I think it will be a series of surprises for those who have only knitted Japanese knitting patterns. There are quite a few people who take time just to accept that way of thinking.

Also, how to choose the pattern to knit first is a very important issue. The biggest problem with English patterns is that there is no unified way of writing them. Not all nice designs are easy to knit patterns. Also, each designer and publisher has their own writing habits, and unless you understand them, it can be difficult to move forward. Choosing a pattern for a beginner is as difficult as choosing a thread.

Tokuko has been teaching English patterns for six years now, and in that time she has learned how to learn them efficiently and deepen their understanding, and how much experience it takes to be able to knit without the help of a teacher. I've been I don't think it's too much to say that we have the most know-how there!

Therefore, amirisu will start from January with lessons that specialize only in English patterns.
All of these are kits. All the threads are from overseas. As you clear the patterns in order, you will be able to evenly learn frequently used abbreviations, techniques, and English expressions. If you reach the goal, you should be able to knit English patterns on your own.
Let's put an end to the life of just staring at Ravelry!
Currently, we are recruiting only in Tokyo, but we are planning to hold it at WALNUT in Kyoto.

Starting today, I will explain the patterns and the techniques that can be learned there in a four-part series.
Please look forward to it!
