June 7 is the release date (in Japan) of our new book “My Fair Isle Journey”!
We will have an exhibition of my work at WALNUT Tokyo and WALNUT Kyoto.
My Fair Isle Journey” is a collaboration pattern book with Yuko Sakamoto (yuco), a teacher who teaches fair isle lessons at Walnut Kyoto and Walnut Tokyo.
This is an authentic Fair Isle book featuring yuco's designs. The book is available for pre-order in our online store.
Yuco is a specialist who has been knitting Fair Isle for 25 years. We have also had a long relationship with amirisu since the company was founded, and it has been our dream to publish yuco's book. We are very happy to finally be able to release the book after almost three years of work.
The patterns in the book range from sweaters using traditional patterns to playful cardigans with multiple patterns arranged like a patchwork, allowing you to knit authentic fair isle patterns using steeks. There are also accessories suitable for beginners.
The patterns and color designs show yuco's gentle sensibility, the easy-to-understand explanations based on her years of experience and knowledge in color selection and steeking, and her sincere attitude and love for Fair Isle.
As yuco wrote, knitwear becomes beautiful as if it comes to life when people wear it. We hope you will take a look and feel the charm of the knitwear.
