In 2025, we will hold a Shawl Club instead of the Sock Club, which has been very popular every year. The Shawl Club works in the same as the Sock Club. We will sell a kit for one original shawl limited to that month every month. There is no need to join or register as a member of the club. You are free to purchase only the months that you like or you can complete the entire collection. We will accept designs from the public, so please check the details and apply for the club.
How to apply
Please send an email to contribute@amirisu.com with a brief design proposal (overall sketch, pattern swatch, brief design and knitting instructions). Please provide us with your Instagram and Ravelry accounts at that time. The deadline for submissions is January 20, 2025.
1. Yarn
Please choose from amirisu original yarns (Wanderlust Linen, Parade, Trek, Hike, Flutter, Drift, Swing, Sprint, Stroll, Waltz). If you need to use a different yarn, we will discuss it with you. You can also combine multiple yarns. After receiving your design proposal, we will specify the colors for the sample and send you the yarn. Please do not knit samples during the application stage unless you want to knit an extra piece.
2. Size
The shawl is intended to be knit using 1-2 skeins of 100g. Please design your shawl so that the amount of yarn used is 200g or less. You may use a single color or multiple colors. If using 2-3 colors, you can also use mini skeins (approx. 20g). No size range is required.
3. Rights
The rights to the pattern will be purchased by amirisu. After selling the pattern as a part of the Shawl Club, there is also the possibility of publishing the pattern in a book.
4. Schedule
We will notify you of the result in January only if you are selected. *Please note that we will not contact you if your pattern is not selected.
We will sell one design per month from April to around August 2024. When we select the designs, we will determine the order of release and the deadline to submit each pattern. Please let us know if you have a preferred deadline.
5. Final items to be submitted if selected
・Pattern (Please create a written pattern, not a Japanese diagram type pattern. Patterns can be written in English or Japanese.)
・Charts (if necessary)
6. Others
Patterns will be released in English and Japanese. amirisu will handle all of the technical editing, chart drafting, layout, and translation.
Submitted designs must be unpublished. Publishing includes posting sketches or photos of works in progress or finished pieces on your personal blog, Instagram, or website.
