Have You Knit These? Color Affection by Veera Värimäki
"Color Affection was originally a collaboration with the Plucky Knitter. I had 3 gorgeous Cashmere skeins waiting, had no idea what to do with them and decided to wait and see. Then the idea just came to me. I actually got the idea in a dream! It's the one and only time anything like this has happened to me - and probably not all details turned out as I had seen in the dream, but the basic idea sure is the same!
After having the idea, everything worked out like the dream! I even made two different versions, first one in lace weight yarn and a second in fingering weight. Both times the stitches just flew off the needles.
Although I was very happy with how the shawl turned out, the success on Ravelry was still a huge surprise! I had no idea people all around the world would love this three color shawl as much as I do! I love seeing all the different versions and all the colors - it's truly heartwarming to see how Color Affection is a design people come back to and knit over and over again.
I recently designed another take on the same idea and that shawl is called Color Love. To me it was like visiting an old friend, something so soothing yet something new."
