what are you knitting now? 〜MAEMA knitting with OLANN SOCK SPORT〜
November 19, 2021
Ladies and gentlemen, do you have a stock of hand-dyed yarn that you treasure?
I don't know when the next shipment will arrive! And there are times when you end up buying more clothes.
Today, I would like to introduce Maema , a cardigan knitted by amirisu staff using such treasured stock.
Knitted by Sock Sport from Irish hand-dyed yarn maker Olann . It seems that he fell in love at first sight and purchased it when it first arrived at amirisu.
The front and back are lined with small hexagonal patterns (called a honeycomb brioche pattern), and the sleeves are knitted in knitted fabric. The color fluctuation is indescribably cute! The whitish base contains speckles of pink, light green, brown, and navy, making it versatile and easy to match with any color outfit.
It's been cold all of a sudden this year, so unfortunately I missed the season when I can wear it as an outerwear, but I wear it under my coat, and I wear it to protect against the cold at the office. The length is a little short, so it looks good with wide pants.
According to the staff, "For me, knitting is Tetris."
Rather than complicated patterns that must be knitted while constantly looking at the pattern, he loves simple repetitions and steadily knitting knitted deserts. Like Tetris, it makes you want to clear (complete) as soon as possible. Everyone has their own way of enjoying knitting.
This pattern is not available on amirisu, but please look for it on Ravelry.
Please try knitting with your own hand-dyed yarn. Olann's yarn is currently sold out, but I think it would be cute to knit with amirisu trek, Handdyed from Parade, or Purl Soho!

[Design Recruitment] amirisu + Brooklyn Tweed Book Project
November 19, 2021
[amirisu + Brooklyn Tweed book project]
Brooklyn Tweed and amirisu have been collaborating since before amirisu incorporated in 2014. And since we opened our physical store 7 years ago, we have always stocked BT yarns.
In the past few years, we have increased the variety of yarns we handle, and even started making our own original yarns, but our love for BT wool has not changed at all. I want to knit more various knits with Shelter, Loft, and Quarry! I decided to make a book together this time.
The amirisu designer team is also thrilled with this project. And I'm sure the designers reading this are also interested. With that in mind, I decided to solicit designs from all over the world this time.
I'm looking for some unisex designs from sweaters to accessories. The details are as follows.
(1) Choose yarn from Shelter, Loft, Quarry, Arbor, Peerie, Dapple, Tones. Multiple threads can be used if desired.
(2) The inspiration for this book is the work of Finnish architects and designers such as Alvar Aalto, Eero Saarinen and Maija Isola. (No problem for modern designers)
(3) Knitwear should be available in at least 11 sizes (women: XS-XXL, men: S-XXL). Please make kids sizes if possible. (Details of size will be provided)
(4) Small items should be available in at least 3 sizes (kids, adult S, adult L). (Details of size will be provided)
(5) Amirisu will specify the color of the sample later. Please do not knit samples with your submission unless you want to knit an extra piece yourself.
(6) When applying, please send us a sketch, a swatch, and a description of the design of the women's S size sample, which describes the approximate size and room for wearing. Please also let us know your Instagram and Ravelry accounts. I check my account to see if I have enough experience with pattern making and sizing. We also encourage you to submit multiple ideas.
(7) Please apply by email to contribute@amirisu.com . The deadline is January 15 , 2022 . The book is scheduled to be published by the end of 2022 and will be available through retail outlets worldwide. A total of 12 to 14 patterns are expected to be posted.
We look forward to receiving your application.

what are you knitting now? 〜nowaki knitted with Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport〜
November 09, 2021
It's been a long time, everyone.
After a long hiatus, the staff's knitting introduction blog will be resumed for the first time in a while!
The amirisu staff have different knitting histories and tastes, but of course they all love knitting. During the lunch break, everyone works hard and a lot of knitwear is created every day.
Among them, this time we will introduce nowaki , a shawl knitted by Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport .
A triangular shawl designed by Stella Egidi, who lives in Italy, and has an elegant lace pattern. It is published in amirisu21.
The staff said they chose it because they thought it was simple, classic, and easy to use. It's getting colder and colder, but it's not winter yet, so it's just right to wear it over a coat.
The designated yarn, Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport, is hand dyed from 100% Canadian wool.
According to the staff, the texture of the rustic wool felt a little dry. It's never soft during knitting, but it becomes fluffy when blocked.
The point I was careful about was that the difference in color would not appear in the knitted fabric because the color of the hand-dyed yarn varies depending on the skein. By changing to a different skein thread every few rows and knitting it like a stripe pattern, the colors are mixed and the difference between each skein is not noticeable.
In addition, it is recommended to properly mark each pattern so that the number of stitches is not mistaken.
Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport, many colors in stock.
Why don't you try knitting on this occasion?
Details Thread: Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport 4 Kase Color: evergreen
Needles: US4, US2 (1 size lower than specified)
