The challenge was to find a balance that combines lace and bobbles in a way that feels both fresh and harmonious.

This coming January marks my 10th year as a designer!

The motif is based on the kanji character “3 (三),” and I struggled with fitting the pattern in naturally while increasing along the raglan lines.

For this textured pattern, I expanded the idea from the image of vertical grids—like latticework or shoji screens.

It took time to adjust the pattern so that all sizes could be knitted in the same way, making it less confusing.

Warm caramel for the body and deep charcoal for the cables would be gorgeous.

I already knit another one, in black!
