This pattern is made up of a number of small brioche triangles and garter stripes, crocheted with pique flechage stitches.
You can use high-contrast colors for an artful shawl, or use low-contrast colors for subtle shades. I can't imagine how the colors I choose will affect each other in each pattern, it's like drawing a picture with yarn.
