Heather's Path charming pullover that looks like a gift softly draped with ribbons. The ribbons crisscross at an angle, resembling music scales, too.
Today, let's talk to the designer, Alma. At the end of our interview she gives us a music recommendation that is a perfect accompaniment to this design, don't forget to add it to your knitting playlist.
amirisu: What was your inspiration for this design? Alma: I love ribbons. I buy ribbons regularly but never really know what to do with them. So the idea for this design was to reinterpret this timeless fashion adornment in a modern way.
amirisu: What, if any, challenges did you encounter during the design process? Alma: As always the design process has lots of ups and downs and countless challenges. The fade I had in mind came up the right way immediately. But for the ribbonlike cables I swatched intensively.
amirisu: If you were to knit this design in another color, what would it be? Alma: I’m planning to knit a version for myself in a greyellow fade. From light grey to bright yellow!
amirisu: How did you start your knitting journey? Alma: As a little girl my grandmother taught me how to knit. After a fews years hiatus I came back to the craft and discovered the knitting community. I never dropped my knitting needles again.
amirisu: Is there any particular music you like to listen to while knitting? If not, what kind of music do you enjoy in general? Alma: Of course ! I love to listen to music when knitting. For example the Gymnopedies by Eric Satie. I feel this piece of music echoes specially with this design.
