Bossanova by Cecilia Flori
Today's interview is with Cecilia. For our first collaboration together in almost 9 years, Cecilia designed Bossanova, an asymmetrical shawl with bold wiggly lines in 3 colors. Of course, you can customize the number of lines and shapes of the cables, so feel free to get creative. Let's jump into our interview with Cecilia!
amirisu: What was your inspiration for this design?
Cecilia: Its name says it all: this piece attempts to translate with layers, shapes, colors and three-dimensional knit patterns the harmonic and melodic complexity of Bossa Nova.
amirisu: What, if any, challenges did you encounter during the design process?
Cecilia: No particular challenge, it was exciting to follow the unfolding of the concept into the execution!
amirisu: If you were to knit this design in another color, what would it be?
Cecilia: Choosing the color scheme for this shawl is a big part of the fun: the options, whether or not tied to the knitter's favorite music, are truly endless.
amirisu: How did you start your knitting journey?
Cecilia: Like many of us I began knitting as a child, resuming intensively after a long hiatus with the internet advent.
amirisu: Is there any particular music you like to listen to while knitting? If not, what kind of music do you enjoy in general?
Cecilia: I constantly live immersed in music and my soundtrack varies depending on the focus I need to put on either work or knitting, but I listen to everything, classical, pop, jazz and, of course, Brazilian music.
Thank you, Cecilia!
