This is Tokuko in charge of design. During the process of making the Trek, I tried various materials and twists, but when I knitted the current one, I thought, "I've finally made it!" I think it was difficult to bring out this feeling of knitting, texture, and refreshing feeling.
"Fresh feeling", have you ever tasted this feeling with wool?
If the twist is tighter, the thread itself becomes rounder, but I think that the roundness reduces the area that touches the skin, and as a result, it leads to a refreshing feeling.
Refreshing with wool! It's kind of a strange feeling, but I hope everyone will experience it.
And the tightness of the twist affects the knitting comfort, knitted fabric, and design in various ways.
The thread stretches like a spring, so it feels great to knit. What is comfortable knitting? Everyone who thinks. Please try it once! Knitting is important.
However, if you knit comfortably, most people will probably find it harder to knit than gauge, so please be aware of that. It will be a piece that is too small to wear.
Next is the knitted fabric. Parade is the same, but Trek is also eye-catching. You did it! Don't be afraid of the knitted desert. Go ahead and adopt Trek.
Also, the thread is solid, so it should be easy for beginners to knit. The drape is difficult to come out on the contrary. And highly recommended for socks!
Design at the end. If the twist is tight, the pattern is clear. You can enjoy the colorful rope braid pattern, and the pattern only on the front and back should come out beautifully.
For the first time, we have prepared various kits, but we would like to introduce more good ones from time to time.

How Trek is made

Amirisu's third original yarn, Trek, will be released on September 4th!
In fact, the reason I started making original yarn was the high import duty on summer yarn. 100% domestic linen yarn is almost non-existent anymore, yet import tariffs are still high (tariffs are mostly imposed to protect domestic industries). If you have the materials, you should be able to make better threads at a lower cost! That was the beginning.
So it took me a long time to decide to make my own wool thread. Actually, around the same time that I started making prototypes for Parade and Wanderlust, I also started making prototypes for Trek. I wanted a strong twist merino yarn that I could use all year round.
However, this is quite difficult. I've tried a variety of materials, but some of them end up with regular, springy threads, and some don't feel fresh. Ordinary thread is useless. So I put it in storage for a while. And again, as I remembered, I asked them to make a prototype with a different material.
In the meantime, I came up with a blend of Australian and French merino wool that was proposed by a twister. This was very good, and I decided to devise the number of twists from there. Despite the production method, which I was worried about going skewed, I asked them to twist it more and more. I finally finished it! It happened late last year.
There is a lot of controversy about shrink-proofing these days. And it is hard to become a pill. So 70% use preshrunk wool. As a result, we were able to obtain the shrink-proof effect without using 100% shrink-proof wool. Also, the coloring is good. Bright orange and yellow socks peeking out from the hem of his pants. I chose the color with such an image.
Of course, it is also ideal for clothing. Please enjoy the relaxed knitting comfort that is different from the ease of knitting of Parade!

We asked Mari Kawanishi to select " TE tea and eating " because we want everyone to enjoy it.
In Column 03 , we introduced the recommended way to enjoy summer, carbonated water.
This time, we will introduce the basic way to enjoy it slowly and for a long time by pouring hot water over and over again.

Enjoy the slowly changing flavors and aromas while knitting
The good thing about Chinese tea is that you can enjoy it for many years.
When we all get together to taste it, we brew it in a teapot,
Share the taste and aroma that changes with each brew.
We asked about the basic brewing method for the tea Mr. Kawanishi chose.
"When brewing in a teapot, use 5g of tea leaves and 200ml of hot water. With this, you can enjoy 6-7 infusions. Pour in hot water and enjoy the ever-changing aroma and taste. The important thing is that each infusion is one brewing. If you can't drink the whole cup at once, it's a good idea to transfer it to a pitcher.You can enjoy it for a long time, so I think it's a perfect accompaniment to knitting."
Put tea leaves into a warmed teapot and pour boiling water.
After steaming for about 1 minute, remove the lid and smell the aroma.
It's important to pour out each batch, so transfer it to a pitcher.
Pour from the pitcher into teacups. For the 2nd infusion, steam quickly, then for the 3rd and 4th infusions, gradually lengthen the steaming time and pour.
Chinese tea is very easy to make, as it can be added quickly with boiling water.
When you're alone, you can put the tea leaves and hot water directly into the mug and enjoy! This is even easier.
“Put 2.5g of tea leaves into a mug, which is half the amount of tea leaves used in a teapot, and pour hot water over it. However, the key is to keep drinking it deliciously.
It is important to warm the tea utensils before brewing the tea leaves, as the tea leaves will open when heated and the aroma will rise.
A small effort becomes deliciousness, and a space is born in the feeling.
Even if you don't have tea utensils for Chinese tea, you can use whatever you have on hand.
Once you wake up to the deliciousness, it's fun to collect the tea utensils.

5g of tea leaves for 500ml of carbonated water.
After adding the tea leaves, close the lid and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.

The big attraction of Chinese tea is its fragrance.
It was created to enjoy the change of each brew,
Isao tea (ingenuity tea).
Mari Kawanishi of "TE tea and eating" was inspired by Isao tea.

There are many types of tea, but they are originally made by plucking and processing the new buds of the same tea tree. Different types of tea are produced depending on the method of fermentation and the method of tea production. It is classified into 6 major categories.

“The main type of tea produced in Taiwan is oolong tea. There are tea-producing areas all over Taiwan. When the tea leaves are shaken to make small scratches, fermentation starts from there. Oolong tea is a green tea that is half fermented.There are many types of oolong tea, and the taste and aroma differ depending on the production area.Oolong tea is suitable for continuing to drink slowly for a long time by adding hot water many times, so knitting I think it's perfect for having fun while doing it. I think it's suitable for knitting because it calms me down and clears my head."

If everyone enjoys it together, their hearts will soften and they will be able to communicate comfortably. I'm in the process of renovating my house to create an atelier, and I want to make it a place where I can have a quick cup of tea anytime. So that you can enjoy it alone or with everyone.”

Mr. Kawanishi is in charge of the cafe at the design unit "graf" based in Osaka,
I have worked on menus, products, and events related to tea and food.
Currently, he is working independently as the head of "TE tea and eating".
Coupled with the tea and Taiwan boom, while attention is increasing,
I, from the yomirisu editorial department, learned about the appeal of tea in advance of the event.
I hope it will be a chance to get close to tea.
The impression I had when I tasted it for the first time continues to this day.
What made Kawanishi-san become a tea lover?
It was a Taiwanese tea that I drank at the Asian restaurant "Popo-ya" in Kitahorie, Osaka.
Meishan oolong tea, high mountain tea from Meishan Township, Taiwan.
It grows at a high altitude of about 1200m and is known as a famous tea.
In order to fully enjoy the aroma of tea, we use a small teapot and an incense cup.
It seems that I tasted it in the kung fu ceremony.
“When you steam the tea leaves, pour hot water over the top of the teapot and wait for the tea leaves to open slowly. It was the first time I drank tea like that. I wanted to know."
Since then, I have been going to the Chinese tea class of “Chinese Tea Party Absurd Kucha” for 15 years.
I have tasted a variety of teas both in the classroom and privately.
Far from getting tired of it, the more he knew, the more he became addicted to it.
“We try four or five types of tea in one session, but each time we discover something different. Mr. Anxi Huang, the owner of "Uncha Kucha", chose tea according to the twenty-four seasons and arranged it beautifully. Not only did I gain knowledge about tea, but I also expanded into various worlds from tea, such as vessels, flowers, calligraphy, architecture, and music. The joy of knowing never ends. The older I get, the more joy I get. The teacher loves to eat, and as a glutton like me, he also serves dim sum and sweets. Tea and food became the axis of my own activities.”
