Lori's Notebook – A Cozy Bed Jacket

Lori’s Notebook – A Cozy Bed Jacket

Being “under the weather” was inspiration for making a cozy bed jacket. I used a washable yarn and a vintage pattern. The sweater design would be simple to duplicate without a pattern. Give it a try!

Gather:
Worsted weight yarn
US 8 (5mm) needle

Instruction:

Using measurements from an old comfortable sweater, knit a square back. Then knit two rectangles for the front. Seam at the shoulders. Pick up stitches for the sleeves. I made about 80 stitches for a wide loose fit. Knit until preferred length. Match seams and edge of bottom of the sweater and sleeves, sew together.

There are many ways to personalize this sweater, or keep it simple! The boxy shape is lovely for wrapping up in!

I enjoyed making the sweater so much I’m thinking of making another in a lovely warm wool.
