Laine Magazine has chic pages like a fashion magazine and attractively designed patterns that capture the latest trends. Every issue contains many patterns that you will want to knit.
For this event, we will welcome Jonna, CEO and Creative Director of Laine Publishing, to talk give a talk on the secrets to writing a great knitting pattern. Those who are studying knit design or pattern writing will find this talk particularly interesting.
Jonna will speak in English and Meri will be interpreting into Japanese.

Jonna will show you how to spot the pitfalls of knitting charts and write effective patterns that are more accessible. She will also share tips on when to condense text versus expand text, along with why.
Through the lecture, you'll learn not only about inclusivity in terms of sizes and yarns, but also about fiber choices and even needle selections and their impact on the pattern. You'll also gain insights into various aspects of pattern layout, the utilization of QR codes, and linguistic solutions.
