The Drop Shawl is a triangular shawl that adds a playful accent to a simple stockinette stitch.
The main feature of the Drop Shawl is the drop stitches worked on the final row.
The ladder-like pattern created by intentionally dropping stitches adds a light, airy touch to the simple fabric.
You can increase the number of these ladder patterns for a bit more lacy look, or choose not to drop stitches at all and finish it as a basic stockinette shawl.
Another great feature is that you can use up every last bit of your favorite yarn.
Any leftover yarn after finishing the shawl can be turned into a cute tassel at the end.
It's a design filled with love for yarn, allowing you to use one entire skein perfectly and without waste.
Begin with an I-cord in the center, and work in stockinette stitch while increasing stitches. In the final row, drop stitches to create a ladder pattern, and finish with an I-cord bind-off. After blocking, attach tassels made from leftover yarn.
