Hamabe by Rie

Today we would like to introduce Rie, the designer of Hamabe. The design has been announced from amirisu1 issue. The hand-dyed threads you see on the Meriyasu site are also very nice.

amirisu: Where did you get the inspiration for this design?

Rie: When I was watching the movie, the cardigan that the main character was wearing was so nice! I thought about how to express it with knitting and designed it . It ended up being something completely different from the cardigan in the movie ...
By the way, in the movie "Changeling", the main character is Angelina Jolie .

amirisu: If you were to knit another one, what color would it be?

Rie: If I were to knit another one, I would knit it in white.

amirisu: What inspired you to start knitting?

Rie: The reason I started knitting was when I got pregnant.

amirisu: Please let me know if you have any recommended shops or places near your home (I dream of the days when I can travel freely).

Rie: I live in Suita, Osaka, where there is Expo'70 Commemorative Park. I haven't been to see it yet, but the Tower of the Sun should be wearing a green light now.
Also, there is a small yarn shop called " room amie " one station away from my house.
