amirisu retreat 2017

amirisuリトリート2017

Last year, amirisu and I personally were too busy to do a retreat. We will be able to hold it this year! We are already recruiting and accepting applications.

In fact, the business of Niki Club, which is adjacent to the site, will end in November, so it will be the last time we will be able to hold a retreat in the same way as before. For those of you who would like to participate someday, even if we do next year, we still don't know what form it will take, so I hope you can come this time.

We have finished working out the details of Christine and WS, and we have received confirmation of the day's business status from Niki Resort, so today is the day we can finally advertise on a large scale. good.

Well, retreat. This year, we are inviting Christine Veger, who did a half-day vegetable dye workshop in Kyoto this spring. Christine runs a yarn and fabric shop near San Francisco, while dyeing her yarn under the brand A Verb For Keeping Warm. Recently, I published a book called Modern Natural Dyer, and based on it, I am doing workshops in various places.

In this retreat, you will experience 3 types of dyeing over 2 days. Participants will participate in either the morning session or the afternoon session. On the first day, silk will be dyed by hammering (a gorgeous dye using flowers, etc.), and on the second day, indigo dyeing will be performed. It's a lot of 2 days that you can dye both wool and cloth.

You can spend the rest of the day leisurely knitting or walking, but Tokuko will do a sweater WS as an option. I hear a lot of voices saying that they felt sad because they didn't look good on their knitted clothes. It goes without saying that we take the gauge and weave it to the intended size, but there are many people who fail in choosing the size and design. Surprisingly, you don't know your own size, and it's difficult to measure accurately. In this WS, we will first take your measurements, determine your body type, and teach you how to choose the right design and size.

Throughout the retreat, we will bring spindles, hooks, and weaving tools for those who want to try crafts other than knitting. Meri and Tokuko will teach you. You can also apply for pottery and glass craft experiences at the art biotope at any time during the period.

I was wondering if I could do something special for the people who will be participating in the retreat this time, and Christine made a wonderful offer! A Verb For Keeping Warm has decided to sell it in the Floating limited collection, amirisu, which will be released this fall. I would like to perform the unveiling of this wool at the retreat. Floating is a nice medium fine yarn from Alpaca, Silk and Cashmere. The softness of alpaca, the luster of silk, and the stiffness of cashmere. I am excited from now on. Please look forward to it!

Those who have participated in past retreats will also be able to enjoy the newly pre-opened garden, the Botanical Farm Garden, on the premises of the art biotope. I am very happy to have more places to walk.

The period is 4 days and 3 nights from November 2nd to 5th. I think it will be fun and it will go quickly. Sign up here.
